Polar Summer
Above the Arctic Circle, glaciers created countless fjords in Western Greenland and Canada’s Baffin Island. The largest glaciers produce stunning icebergs that float in Baffin Bay. Where the sun never really sets, the golden glow of twilight provides a unique sky for photographing.
In this remote treeless tundra, the Inuit people learned to thrive where few others could. Their culture continues to define the Arctic.
If you are lucky, you may see Polar Bear, Reindeer (caribou), Arctic Fox, and Musk Oxen--the terrestrial wildlife of this great land.
Acadia National Park
I am fortunate to visit Acadia many summers. Acadia is the best summer playground on the East Coast.
Hike the trails, kayak the coves, and bike the carriage roads. Wildlife like eagles, seals, turkey, porcupine, porpoises, and fox are best viewed early in the morning.

Big Sur, California
Big Sur is one of the most dramatic landscapes in the world. Here, coastal mountains drop precipitously into the Pacific Ocean. Secluded beaches, valleys, mountains, and tall California Redwoods standing among countless streams to complete the scene.
If you are lucky, you may spot whales, seals, condors, or even a mountain lion.

Southern Mediterranean
Tunis, Palermo, Cartegna, Annaba. Each city is in a different country, yet the similarities are striking.
In the Mediterranean, empires sometimes clashed, but more often, they exchanged food, art, architecture, science, and even religions. The result is a region rich in history and blended cultures.

South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Botswana
Rhinos have been poached relentlessly. Some cultures believe the rhino horn possesses medicinal properties, none of which has been proven clinically. If a mother is killed for her horn, the orphaned rhino is left to die. Rhinos are endangered as a consequence. Anti-poaching techniques have greatly improved.
